FOUNDED IN 2010 BY FABRIZIO MICHIELON AND SERGIO DE GIOIA, MIDE ARCHITETTI FOCUSES ON RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTURE WITH A STRONG TRADITION BUT ALWAYS CAPABLE OF GENERATING NEW LINGUISTIC CODES.

STORY

In 2010, a flat converted into an architectural studio in a small town in the Veneto region was the setting for MIDE architects' first projects. Between the first private commissions, public competitions and models, the project philosophy that will characterise the architectural production of the following years takes shape. As the number of projects and orders grew, the studio also evolved in terms of skills and experience.

Since 2018, a redeveloped and reconverted carpentry workshop has housed the studio's new headquarters, where today 11 collaborators work under the direction of the two partners.

THE STUDIO'S APPROACH TO DESIGN IS PRAGMATIC, MEASURED AND AIMED AT SARTORIAL CARE. ATTENTION TO CONTEXT LEADS TO DESIGN INTUITION: ANALYSIS AND ATTENTION MERGE WITH OUR VISION, AIMED AT RETURNING ARCHITECTURES OF MEANING AND TIMELESSNESS.

THROUGH A CLEAR AND INCISIVE FORMAL LANGUAGE, THE AIM IS TO RETURN AN ICONIC ARCHITECTURE WHERE EACH COMPONENT OF THE PROJECT, BE IT ARCHITECTURAL, STRUCTURAL, PLANT ENGINEERING OR LANDSCAPE, IS ORCHESTRATED TO FIND ITS PROPER EXPRESSION.

THE OFFICE

The headquarters of MIDE architects is a solid manifesto of the design method. An industrial carpentry workshop in a small town along the Riviera del Brenta towards Venice: the double height, the vaulted ceiling and the natural light allow, by means of a concrete graft, to rework the interior, giving the space to accommodate the work team while maintaining the original character of the place.

The work of MIDE architects is recognised both in Italy and abroad through the awarding of architectural competitions, prizes and publications.

Over the years the studio has been invited to participate as visiting professor in international workshops, architectural competition juries and to lecture at universities.

The architectural production is published in the most important architecture portals and magazines.
